FIRE SEASON   May 6-24, 2017.  Mayberry FIne Art, Toronto.

With dreamlike explorations of real and imagined landscapes, Meghan Hildebrand's paintings invite the viewer to get lost in vibrant worlds with few boundaries.  A constant process of reinvention and improvisation keeps her work ever-changing.

"Fire Season" pushes forward, deeper into abstraction, letting go of the rules of landscape. Colour, used to create atmosphere and emotion, is the primary access point into the work.  She shifts between surface pattern and the illusion of depth, and from figurative to non-representational motifs to create transportive and charged images.
